HealthPathways is back and better than ever! We're thrilled to announce some exciting updates and improvements to our platform, which will make a real difference to healthcare professionals across the region.
The Power of Collaboration
Our dedicated HealthPathways team has been hard at work, collaborating closely with various healthcare panels and services to develop and refine our referral pathways. These pathways are designed to provide GPs with the most helpful and up-to-date information when referring patients to specialist services.
For instance, we've recently launched new referral pages for respiratory services on the Central Coast. These pages, Respiratory Referrals - Adults and Respiratory Referrals - Child and Youth, are tailored to the needs of GPs and will streamline the referral process. We'd love to hear your feedback on these new resources, so don't hesitate to use the "Send Feedback" feature on the bottom right corner of each HealthPathways page!
Expanding Our Pathways
In addition to the new referral pages, we've also finalized a suite of pathways in collaboration with ENT services. These pathways cover a range of conditions, including Hoarse Voice (Dysphonia), Hearing Loss in Adults, Rhinosinusitis, and Acute Otitis Media in Children.
But here's where it gets controversial... We want to know your thoughts on these new pathways! Are they comprehensive enough? Do they address the specific challenges you face in your practice? Your feedback is invaluable in helping us continuously improve our resources.
Keeping Up with the Latest Guidelines
We understand the importance of staying current with therapeutic guidelines, which is why we've made partial updates to several pathways this month. These updates align with recent changes to the Therapeutic Guidelines - Antibiotic, ensuring that our information remains accurate and relevant.
Some of the pathways that have received partial updates include Cellulitis, Follow-up TOP, UTIs in Pregnancy, and Recurrent UTIs in Women. You can find a detailed breakdown of the changes on our Central Coast Daily Updates page.
A Focus on Maternity and Beyond
The HealthPathways team has also been busy reviewing and developing pathways related to maternity services. In collaboration with the HNE Local Health District, we've updated the Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy (HDP) pathway and created a new companion pathway, Postpartum Management of Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy (HDP).
Other recently reviewed pathways include Peri-procedural Management of Antithrombotics, Newborn Check, Epilepsy in Women and Pregnancy, and Combined Hormonal Contraceptives. We've also made partial updates to pathways related to UTIs in Pregnancy, Sore, Tender, and Damaged Nipples in Breastfeeding, and Post Natural Disaster Health, ensuring that our information is in line with the latest therapeutic guidelines.
